Hello, my name is Twister. I am a pure bred brindle Boxer. I was born August 31, 1999. When I was six weeks old, I went to live with Rod and Doreen. As you can see from my picture, I was quite small, but I'm not anymore. Now I can barely fit into the chair I took over when I moved in. That's why I've moved on to sneaking into the bed when I'm at home by myself. The only thing is, I can't figure out how to stop leaving impressions in the freshly made bed. It always gives me away.

puppylove.jpg (8535 bytes) This is a picture of Doreen. It was taken after she ran out into a severe thunderstorm to bring Patches in. Patches is one of the Shih Tzus that lives with me on the farm. She's blind, so I'm not allowed to play with her, but I love her anyway. We all look after her, which can be a full-time job. She sure gets around good considering she's blind. This is my favorite picture of Doreen because it's proof she'd do anything for us. She's pretty cool. She buys me treats and toys and teaches me tricks, but I still can't figure out why she got a panther tattoo on her arm. A boxer would have looked much better, don't ya think? She even sat on the edge of the half frozen slough talking to me for an hour and a half when I got stuck on the thin ice. We had to wait for Gramp to get home and bring the boat out to rescue me. I was not going to jump off the ice into the water no matter how much she coaxed me. I made them get the fishing boat out and row out to the ice to get me. Sarah thought I was being a wimp, but she's got more hair than I do. I think Doreen was a little embarassed when the neighbors drove by and seen her and Gramp getting the boat out of the slough, but she didn't get mad at me. She must still love me because she let me ride in her Mustang when I had to go to the vet to get porcupine quills pulled out of my nose. She doesn't let just "anybody" ride in her car.

twisterandrod.jpg (15595 bytes)This is me and Rod. He spoils me rotten. Doreen always teases him about it because he had his doubts about me coming to live with them, but I think he's over them now. He didn't even get mad at me when I scratched his eye and he had to go to the doctor and wear an eye patch for two days. He said it was all his fault because he was holding me upside down like a baby. I didn't mean to do it. I just got excited when Doreen left for work because I wanted to go with her. They both work too much, but Gran and Gramp live on the farm with us and they let me out and play with me. Don't tell Rod and Doreen, but Gran and Gramp spoil me too. Gramp cuts up carrots for me. I LOVE CARROTS!!!!!!

This is Doreen's mean cat Sassy. Our relationship resembles the one Garfield and Odie have. Sometimes Doreen has to rescue me when I want out of a room and Sassy is sitting in the doorway. I know, I know, he's just a cat, right? But he's a twenty-one pound cat!!!!!!!!!!!! But I'm the boss when we get outside. I get my revenge by chasing Sassy across the yard and up a tree.

Here is where I live. As you can see from the pictures, a Canadian winter is a very white winter. I don't go outside very much in the winter. But in the summer it's a different story. There's so much to do in the summer. Chase gophers, walk through the flower beds, play tu-o-war with Sarah, etc, etc etc. We only come in at night in the summer and that's only because Doreen is scared of the coyotes getting me and Sarah.

UPDATE: April 25, 1999- I have now learned how to open the door to the house and let myself in. Rod and Doreen were very confused for a while, trying to figure out who let me in. After they finally accepted the fact that I did it , they decided they want me to learn to close the door after I come in. I guess they don't want the house full of mosquitoes this summer.

UPDATE: August 2, 1999- I now weigh a whopping 57 pounds. Doreen had a really hard time lifting me to stand on the scale, but we finally got it done.

UPDATE: Things I learnt in the Spring and Summer of 2000.
-Do not go walking on thin ice.
-Porcupines are not a fun thing to play with.
-Camping isn't so bad. It's better than being left at home and I get to see new things.
-Squirrels are fun to chase even when slowed down by the kid attatched to the other end of my leash.
-And sometimes the company at our house does goofy things like dress me up.
