Salem

Let's see, what can I say about Salem. For one the pictures I have
of him don't do him justice. He is a beautiful black cat with amber colored eyes.
His eyes can look kind of evil at times, but this black cat is nothing but an
absolute sweetheart.
Salem was born in the summer of 2000. He was the only black kitten in his litter so
he stood out amidst the orange and white furballs that were his litter mates. Since
he was born, he has been a constant source of love. As I sit here working on his
page, he is purring in my lap, waiting for his opportunity to jump up and attack the screen
or step on the keyboard. He also loves to curl up on my lap while watching
T.V. and sleeps in all kinds of positions. It also not uncommon for him to sleep
stretched out between my body and my arm at night. Needless to say, I have to be
very careful not to squish him at night.
As for his entertaining side, you never know what he's going to do next.
It's very common to wake up and find Snoogy and Salem(otherwise known as the
"Partners in Crime") playing floor hockey in the kitchen with anything they can
get their paws on. I know that's normal for a cat, but I will never forget the day
Rodney came out of the basement and told me that Salem was climbing the walls.
Naturally I thought he just meant he was running around, acting like a nut, but Rod
informed me that "NO, the cat was really climbing the walls".
Door jam actually, but it's still a sight to see. I seen it today.
Before leaving for work, I was treated to looking over to see just what on earth he
was doing and found him hanging on the door jam looking me in the eyes. I'm five
foot four inches. He has now been nicknamed our "Little Witch Cat" and
we're wondering what he's going to do next. I'll keep you posted on that. |
